The Beginning: 100 days of Fitness

This morning is cold. I’m still in bed. A routine and habit I have come to love. I’m cozy, it’s quiet and I can be still with my thoughts. The problem is lounging around makes it harder to get up and get moving. Chronic pain has settled in and I am making a choice to do it differently. I’m nervous. The chatter is already saying, “I’m a quitter.” but I’m not. I’m a survivor.  I can do anything I put my mind to. So today I strap on some bravery, focus on the goal and move forward one inch at a time. I’m focusing on building muscle, losing fat and gaining a ton of self confidence. You can follow my journey on Instagram. I post daily snippets from workouts & food choices.

Every morning you have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams. Or wake up and chase them.

My Plan: I’ll be lifting weights and doing cardio 6 days a week. I’m eating a clean diet, have reduced calories, portion sizes and amped up water intake. I wear a FitBit every hour to monitor movement. FitBit is a exercise tracking tool. It monitors your step, sleep pattern, heart rate & staircases climbed. Fancier models have GPS for runners, and other bells and whistles.

If I have noticed that movement is below my target goal, I go for a walk or go up and down my staircase. The point is to increase daily  movement since I sit at a sewing machine and a desk most of the day.

Follow along, get inspired. I look forward to taking that AFTER photo!
